You heard it right.
The West has gone completely off its case in the past 50 years more or less (though traceable backward more than 100 years) and betrayed pretty much everything that laid ground for all its social foundation.
From allowing outright abominations such as abortion, to erroneously equating homosexual “marriage” with heterosexual marriage and thus doing violence to the true human family, to ultra feminist infiltration, to politically correct infections and brainwash (which is the open gate for evil to enter and dominate since it is so busy with its false “civility” that it ignores the Virtue of Truth and buries it under the throne of plausibility to cater to the tyranny of the perpetually offended), to normalizing all forms of sexual perversion, indoctrinating our children into that perversion, and the list could go on. And the West is paying for it.
We are paying for it with a morally bankrupt culture, a complete loss of dignity to compromise with outright evil, complete disregard for the sacred dowsed in perpetual irreverence, and cleaving on the left, right, top, and bottom sides of the human family -- which really is a cleaving of all society because the human family is the bulwark of a civilized people and the flourishing basis of the image of God.
Cleave the family, cleave all order.
It’s no wonder, then, why we’re all in debt and in a mess of some sort or another, and why much of our youth is lost to raves, drugs, and sexual addiction. And that just begins the list filled with copious amounts of fists raised at God, natural law, and real human rights.
Culture is the rock upon which a successful nation/people is built. Destroy the culture, destroy its essence, and you will destroy both souls (the real tragedy) and the functionality of the society (the secondary tragedy that stems from the first).
Especially here in the United States, we are easily the most morally irresponsible and culturally immature people on the planet. Truly, we are Babylon. That’s okay, because when we all stand before God in judgment at the end of time there will be no erroneous opinions, plausibility, perversion, or rebellion. There will only be Our Lord, our accountability, and our answers for our deeds.
Now, Ryan, tell us what you really think!
In some places in Africa, on the other hand, the story is quite different.
Just one example includes the bold stance on the part of President John Evans Atta Mills of Ghana. In the midst of the modern UK’s notoriously progressive policies, particularly concerning financial aid to Ghana, President Mills courageously affirms:
“I, as president of this nation will never initiate or support any attempts to legalize homosexuality in Ghana.”
This comes in the midst of movements by the UK Prime Minister David Cameron with the agenda of forcing select African countries to either end their ban on homosexual “marriage,” or suffer relinquishment of aid.
Well, according to the uncompromising mentality of these countries, there is no problem whatsoever in letting them cut off aid. But, they will not at all costs compromise their cultural integrity. We need to be seeing these kinds of things in the West. Here are just some of their sentiments:
“Tanzania will never accept Cameron’s proposal because we have our own moral values. Homosexuality is not part of our culture and we will never legalize it… Tanzania is ready to end diplomatic ties with Britain if it imposes conditions on the assistance it provides to pressurize for adoption of laws that recognize homosexuality.”
-Foreign affairs minister Bernard Membe, according to Tanzania’s Guardian newspaper.
“We cannot compromise our deeply rooted culture or [allow] something which [is] completely against our religion. Let them cut off aid.”
-Zanzibar President Ali Mohamed Shein
“Uganda is, if you remember, a sovereign state and we are tired of being given these lectures by people. If they must take their money, so be it.”
-Ugandan presidential adviser John Nagenda, to the BBC

We cannot compromise our deeply rooted culture? Why aren’t we hearing that here in the West, where traditional culture is reduced to mere subjectivity at best and outdated bigotry at worst? Precisely because that is the way we work here. We bend to the progressive agenda, and then demonize and ruthlessly slander anyone who disagrees with policies other than our radical agenda of social revolution, calling them bigots or engage in other slanderous diatribes.
The pressure, especially on our Catholic leaders, is so enormous it can barely be calculated. Faithful Catholics and like-minded people are constantly being held to the spotlight by the wolves waiting for us to make a bold statement to spend the next couple years ripping and tearing it to pieces. Many good people are being led into deception in some form or another because of the colossal pressure that progressive society places on them to conform to the brewing status quo.
But, this is not the only news from Africa concerning secularization in general. Remember that secularization is progressivism’s big brother. All forms of progressivism are really forms of relentless secularization. Those who deem themselves “religious” and are progressives (in the full scope of the term) are not actually religious.
They do not actually love God, but have chosen the false love of self and the worship of mankind over the worship of the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and mankind -- the God who says through divinely inspired authorship that there is a way that seems right to a man, and that way is the way to destruction (Proverbs 14:12, Matthew 7:13).
Actually, St. Paul had something to say about that:
“Know also this, that in the last days, shall come dangerous times. Men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, haughty, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked, without affection, without peace, slanderers, incontinent, unmerciful, without kindness, traitors, stubborn, puffed up, and lovers of pleasures more than of God: Having an appearance indeed of godliness, but denying the power thereof. Now these avoid.”
-2 Timothy 3:1-5
Anyway, Bishop Barthélemy Adoukonou says that he hopes Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to Benin revitalizes the religious sense in Africa and leads more and more of its citizens away from secularization and closer to God. Honestly, there is a very warm spot in my heart for this kind of mentality and every time I hear things like this. But it comes as no surprise that I hear about this where it is reported from.
Also, lately some bishops within the U.S. have also been taking bold stances regarding the culture war as well. Just for one example, Archbishop Timothy Dolan (NY) took an outstanding stance in discourse with President Obama lately. We need to praise these Catholic leaders of ours who do this, and obviously need to add them to our daily prayers. All of them.
Check out Bishop Adoukonou’s awesome words:
“Some within the secularized culture of the West are trying to direct all mankind in the same direction, and (it’s) the wrong direction.”
-Secretary of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Culture (Bishop Adoukonou), to Catholic News Agency Nov 15, 2011.
Great words. Direct, short, to the point, totally realistic, doused in common sense, and wholly vested with the love of God and concern for the true well being of man’s future.

We need to pray diligently for our Western cultures. They are already meters down the edge of a cliff.

Fr. Amorth, the famed exorcist of Rome, issued some troubling statements lately regarding the Medjugorje apparitions. And it got my mind cooking about the nature of private revelations in general. Those statements were:
“By willingly failing to pay attention to the Virgin Mary’s apparitions in Medjugorje, a great number of Christians have proven to be no different from pagans. Within this great number, both bishops and priests are included.”
“Now look here; it is very sour, this balance. After more than thirty years! More than thirty years! Now if it is the pagans who don’t listen to Our Lady’s words, then that I can understand. But be you a Christian, it is not forgivable. Be you a Christian!”.
“It has been 30 years! Is it possible that people still do not hear? And as for those people who believe themselves to be intelligent by saying they wait until the Church approves? They are fools!”
The story can be read here:
http://www.medjugorjetoday.tv/3036/top-exorcist-laments-apathy-to-medjugorje/
Lament may be coordinated toward apathy to Medjugorje, but what is actually lamentable is that Christians who are awaiting the Church’s approval of these apparitions are being told that such an endeavor is unforgivable. Worse, they are called fools. Last time I checked, anticipating the Church’s approval on doctrine or revelation in full Catholic obedience is the primary tradition of the True Faith.
That is what made Jesus’ Agony at Gethsemane exceptional (“Father, if it be your will let this cup pass from me”), that is what made St. Peter the Rock of the Church, and that is what enabled Mary to share her part in God’s salvation plan for mankind: obedience to God’s will.
This makes these statements completely out-of-line, and actually enticing a kind of disobedience to Mother Church. But, even that is “forgivable” as is all else besides blasphemy of the Holy Spirit if brought to the Sacrament of Confession.
One of the dangers of unapproved private revelations is that if and when certain ones are condemned by the Church, the devotees have already developed such a dedication to them that they refuse to abandon the apparition. Thus, they end up favoring the false apparition over the Wisdom of the Church. I will discuss this more in detail shortly, with a specific example of this actually having happened. This is sad.
We really need to live the faith in such a way where private revelations, if approved, are but a pleasant assistance to what we already know. If we absolutely need an apparition or miracle to invigorate our faith or even to have faith at all, something is deeply wrong. Personally, I enjoy immensely being able to discuss things like the Miracle of Lanciano and Our Lady’s messages and promises at Fatima, as well as Lourdes and the incredible man who was Padre Pio, as well as the truckloads of other revelations/miracles.
But, frankly, if we’re really and truly faithful, then theoretically if we were thrown in an alternate timeline where there was no Lanciano, no Lourdes, no Fatima, no scientifically verified blood from Padre Pio’s stigmata, no incorruptible bodies of saints etc — our faith literally would not be altered one iota. Though private revelations/miracles affirmed by the Church are helpful to our faith, they need to remain just that: helpful as well as another provision of God’s glory to rejoice in.
A story of St. John Bosco in my opinion serves this point best. One morning, Don Bosco was saying Mass and realized at the moment he was to distribute Holy Communion to 360 young people that the corporal in the Tabernacle had only eight Sacred Hosts. Everyone noticed and wondered what Don Bosco would do. He said a quick prayer to God and proceeded to carry out communion and to his astonishment, kept handing out and handing out communion until all 360 youths were given Our Lord. A miracle of multiplication happened. After the Mass, some of the boys gathered around Don Bosco in the courtyard, and one asked,
“Father, what were you thinking when you realized that God was doing a miracle through you? He was multiplying the hosts.”
Don Bosco replied,
“I just kept thinking that transubstantiation is a much greater miracle than multiplication, and I see that every day.”
This story may describe a Eucharistic miracle, but if you read deeply between the lines it can also make a very important statement regarding these events in general. That statement is that in investing so much energy in something like a revelation or particular miracle, particularly those not approved, people often may place themselves in danger of missing the most important miracle of all: the miracle that happens at the Mass every day. The miracle of the Resurrection of Christ and His offering of Himself in the Eucharist. The miracle of the love of God and his wonderful salvation plan. Anything else is ultimately peripheral.
This is evidenced clearly by the fact that when some private revelations are condemned, the people are already so dedicated to it that they actually decide to thumb their noses at the Church in allegiance to the apparition. This happened with the Bayside apparitions. If I remember correctly, a handful of individuals rebelled against the Church when Bayside was condemned because they were so attached to it. This is not faith. It is a form of phenomenalism, which is ultimately a form of sensualism, which is ultimately a form of idolatry.
In my opinion one of the many factors supporting St. John Bosco’s sainthood, which is also something you’ll notice all saints have in common, is precisely an immense maturity of faith and spirituality. This is wholly manifest in his ability to see a blatant miracle right before his eyes, and yet, the whole time what fascinated him most was actually the miracle that he doesn’t physically see. We need to let saints like him be a model for our own faith. We need to imitate this model in order to better know the person of Christ.
Let us learn from the Gospel account of St. Peter on the water and learn to keep our eyes on Jesus. Anything else is nice if it does not contradict and supports the greatest revelation of them all, which is Christ, and if Mother Church in Her wisdom deems it worthy, but it is far from necessary to be faithful.
The stakes of these kinds of things can be extremely serious. Sometimes, the stakes are souls.

Now seeds are forged in the midst of Nineveh
None yesterday now plenty in the fields
As the meadows of heaven spring open
And the Lord plants a sure forgery in Babylon
Like a sword fitted surely in the grass
Warriors of light spring forth from the abyss
Unexpected converts awaken their hearts to march for Truth
One last rally cry and another chance
Before the abode of evil swallows the world at last
Before the evil one has his day
Brethren become to fire in the hearth of moments
None to spare, sentiments are building
Yet some divided, but others in courage
Allot the weapons of spiritual conviction
To ourselves and to our last
Weapons not of sword but of virtue
O feel not the tides of lavish comfort
Brethren fly to the aid of Our Lord
Do not be hasty to make plausible plots
Before the hearkened voice of the Lord’s Day
Beckons us follow!
For in God’s wisdom everlasting tests reside
And the folds of the universe will bend to it
It: the culmination of all history
The epoch from thenceforth nothing more means a thing
Save the elements of Heaven shone forth on a race
That is buried beneath the clouds
Huggers of dirt
And riders of malice
Lovers of brutality
And solace in madness
Indulgers in lechery
Cowardice before Truth
O that Isaiah would arise, speaketh again:
There are none like those who refuse to hear!
Who have eyes but cannot see!
Such cannot know the love of God when it draws near
O mighty spear of the Holy Prince Saint Michael
Beckoning the Bride to shine forth
How many a day shall we reside in listlessness?
Bride barren, shine confidently
For the day is coming when the drums will beat
And Our Lord counts His people
Amongst the terrains of the accursed fallen earth
When the persecution rises like a wave
Who will be left to take the storm?
Will we be but newts, locusts, sediments buried in the sand?
Or bastions of the League of God
Soaring beyond the grips of iniquity
Shining like cities upon a hill
Fearless
Clothed in the antiquity of the Lord
Yet emblazoned with the Truth of His Coming
That David in all his glory may join us
This final battle of our fate in Heaven
To usher the New Israel here at last
Zion upon the meadows to conquer darkness
Cower not and hide nowhere
The Lord’s eyes see all
And when the harvest is ripe
Down swoops the Falcon, Lord’s Wisdom
Then the grain enters
And the weed is cast out
No place for delay
Can count for perdition
Hearts are weighed
Then regrets may forever lay

See to it, how a breeze would pass by
After days of shadows blessed
Suffering some lot to the Lord
Not a day, even gray, can produce grief
Though skies remain now here
Strife has not a voice in the still and the clear
Though the kettle spills still
And a dream is not too far
This hot afternoon
The maker breathes its scent
Brown fluid spewing within and without
And a cup prepared neatly
Bits of coffee grain reach the tongue
As the beverage draws its close
A favorite segment of a favorite ritual
Old barren Texas meets the walls of a cold mouth
And God ordained this day,
His priest unto the light
Suffering not, proclaiming glory
Lots for spittle breached their den today
And so I wipe lips clean
Get boots and think of the plains
Horses to and fro
Forest behind, no snow
Good, vast America
Land of my home
Liberty residing well
Though stained and marred
Modern generations left,
Then allotted
Dirt upon fields of clay
Ravage upon miles of canyon
Perversion upon liters of sea
Treachery upon the apex of mountains
The invaders came
Legislated perversion
Destroyed the soil
And forsook the Lord
Embraced Babylon
And buried dignity
Disclosed their bodies
And trashed integrity
O Lord can You hear the cry?
Good Lord, do You hear me, Lot calling?
If I could save Sodom
And cleanse Gomorrah
Lord set me before You
If I had my nation back
I’d ride from this way to that
And you’d see me on the plains
When I was young and of heart
When the musket breathes
Upon this nation distorted
When the musket breathes
Bullet not, but social sure
When the musket breathes
Good will affirms
When the musket breathes
Old Benedict Arnold flees
Now new, but maybe soon old again
Lord, that day you will cast
Your lot over this soil
And You’ll see me on the plains
When strife has known its day
When the cascades of an autumn moon
Shine white
And the stars glimmer sure,
I ponder:
“Lord forgive them, they know not what they do”
Nor how to weigh their lives on rock
Nor how to know when to be through

Obama administration will impose women priests on Catholic Church if judged in public interest
I’m sorry, I actually laughed at this one. This is easily the farce of the decade, maybe even century, maybe even millennium. This goes to show not only how much Obama’s henchmen/women disrespect the Catholic Church, but also how this agenda deliberately ignores the Constitution (Amendment 1 of the Bill of Rights), and how ignorant his administration is of the fact that the Church simply has no authority to ordain women. This is clear, indisputable, black and white evidence (as if there weren’t already copious amounts of it) that the Obama administration is Progressive, anti-American, and hates orthodox religion. This is so unconstitutional someone with an IQ buried in a well can see it. And if not, that person has no common sense.
What amuses me most about it all is the arrogance. He will force it on the Church “if judged in the public interest,” as if public interest rules over God. This is the necessary result of what goes all the way back to the Rebellion (not truly Reformation) of Martin Luther. This is what individualism (dictating your rules vs. the rightful rules of the community, or in this case the law of God-ordained orthodoxy) turns to.
Actually, the arrogance reaches incredible levels even within the Church body here in the United States. I actually saw a petition online the other day where people were petitioning for us NOT to re-translate the Mass the way the Revised English Mass is going to be instituted come the beginning of Advent. They were using such lame excuses as “it might cause division” and other silliness like that. It amuses me to ends inexplicable because they don’t realize that there is no debate on this. It has been decided by the Church. This shows the sad state of ignorance of their own religion many Catholics actually exercise.
The reason for petitions like this is clear. Translation of the Mass into more reverent language disengages the liberals in the Church from ammunition to abuse the liturgy. Thus, they can’t stand dictates by the Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church to in any way make its use of language more ancient, faithful to the original Latin translation, and reverent.
Remember Pope Leo XIII? In the Apostolic Letter Testem Benevolentiae Nostrae he addressed “Americanism,” or the Roman Catholic term for the effort of Progressive Catholics in America to run contrary to Church teaching in disobedience to Magisterial authority and yet remain “Catholics,” as a group of heresies. Both he and Pope St. Pius X were prophets of the modern age, highlighting these kinds of State over Church sentiments (i.e. human modernism over God’s law) already building in their time. Now we see it in full fold when some individuals are both ignorant and arrogant enough to imply that we can have some kind of a democratic vote to dictate how the Church runs. But, the Church of Jesus Christ is not a democracy.
These people are in for a rude awakening.

Please, pass this around to everyone you can. This organization needs to stop using our tax dollars once and for all. We no longer want the dollars coming from our work efforts to be allocated toward support for the murder of babies. Neither is it acceptable to continue being forced to contribute to the facilitation of promiscuous propaganda aimed to brainwash our youth into being complacent about abstinence and indulgent in the destruction of the virtues of chastity, commitment, and protection of life.
Folks, this is an attack on our culture and an affront to human life, and we are being forced to support it by the same government originally founded to protect the virtues of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Not much pursuit in store for a murdered person, neither is it a reflection of true liberty (i.e. not the false “liberty” celebrated by promiscuous culture), nor even remotely reminiscent of life other than its destruction, and about as consistent with true happiness as water is with stone. What are we doing to our nation’s generations? By now you might have guessed I am talking about Planned Parenthood.
Of course, the reason for all this is clear and what the organization won’t dare say outright is that their “sex education” is just a means to bring about the destruction of what a truly sexually responsible culture really is. Instead, they promote and glorify what is often dubbed “safe sex” (perverted, loveless, selfish sex is what that is a euphemism for) which we all know is far closer to causing grounds for both an unwanted child (and thus, abortion) and venereal disease than abstinence -- which is the only absolute guarantee that unwanted pregnancy and health complications won’t happen. It also is the highest degree of respect possible for the integrity of the human individual and respect for the body. This makes abstinence the most logical, composed, considerate, responsible, ethical, and society-nurturing provision possible.
Even contraception, as intrinsically evil as it is, also has a lower chance of success than abstinence. Thus, we ought simply to stop being selfish and pleasure-centered as a society and instead just simply abstain until otherwise morally acceptable. But, since we live in a culture of selfish indulgence, postmodern confusion, and moral relativism, such an option is automatically ruled out as “old-fashioned” and dully chaste. Well folks, it’s the only way to be truly responsible and ethical. We have a choice: be a culture immersed in perversion and watch our culture plummet into the abyss of iniquity or be a culture of dignified, responsible, and life-caring citizens and work to be a part of a civilized nation. Planned Parenthood clearly supports the first option, behind all the rhetoric and responsibility-dodging. Why? It’s in their best interest to do so.
Why is it in their best interest to do so? Well, since Planned Parenthood profits on abortions, not only do they harness a vested interest in facilitating them directly, but also are feverishly interested in contributing to the #1 cause of abortions: irresponsible sex aimed at nothing but pleasure without a single shred of concern for the protection and potential of life, or the sacred, mysterious, and holy self-giving bond of rightful marriage. That is why, to no surprise whatsoever, the Leviathan of Evil that is Planned Parenthood distributes “sex education” literature that supports abject cultural abuse of the sexual faculty. If you don’t believe me, notice It’s Perfectly Normal, the organization’s appalling distributed “sex ed” book. The word “virginity” does not even appear in the index, and it spends virtually no space discussing it compared to the copious amounts of material encouraging distortion of the sexual faculty in some form or another. Worse, notice the targeted audience: 10 years or older. Bull’s-eye on the children.
But, I guess It’s Perfectly Normal, right? Balderdash! It’s Perfectly Perverted.
They could care less about abstinence because that is what interests them least. See, if we valued our chastity (which does not mean no sex, but correct treatment of the sexual faculty in relation to one’s vocation in life -- whether married or celibate) they wouldn’t have blood money. Because we don’t value the virtue of chastity in the modern age worth a New York second, they rake in the fields of corn. They actually despise life in essence. Life, for them, means no profit.
In short, if Planned Parenthood didn’t help contribute to the culture of free sexual indulgence, they wouldn’t have their hands deep enough in what paves the way for their deliberate profit from baby butchery. That’s right folks, baby butchery -- that’s what they do, and that’s how they make their bucks. Anti-human, anti-life, and also anti-American (by virtue of the fact of both violation of the values this nation was formed upon and the fact that promiscuity is among the top causes of the descent of American culture). Planned Parenthood wins the award for the most evil independent organization on the planet. If your heart moves you to any conviction to help stop the public funding of this abomination (which shouldn’t exist in the first place), please sign the petition.
I pray that you may consider solidarity with this issue of national concern. Thank you, and God Bless. To sign, visit: Petition to De-Fund Planned Parenthood

For my first post, I thought I would put up a poetic prayer I wrote today. I hope that its essence will touch the hearts of any struggling with sin, and help build realization of the mystery of our human relationship with the Eternal, All-Loving Lord of the Universe.
Agape: Psalm for a Sinner
Lord, help me know agape
Give me the steadfast girdle
The fortress, tall and sure
Emblazon me with its heat
Where have I gone, O Lord
To have strayed from thee time and time again
The cosmos did not sing today
Nor did the birds take rest
I had engaged in the foul
Profaned my holiness
And yet thy calling still ignites within
Am I worthy of thee, Holy Lord of Hosts?
When I stray time and time again
My heart burns from sin,
Writhes in pain unquenchable
Sordid, morose, miserable
Queer to good, familiar to evil
Yes Lord, please make me a master of agape
Give me the steadfast girdle
The fortress, tall and sure
Emblazon me with its heat
Lost, but Thou hast found me
Writhing, but Thou hast healed me
Searching, but Thou hast enlightened me
Falsehood quivers beneath thy heal
Thy restfulness alone means terror to space and time
Thine actions, then, lie beyond anything imaginable
When thy gaze penetrates my heart
What am I to do but stop?
How would I ever amount to thy majesty?
How could I ever repay thee?
Lord of Hosts, make me a master of agape
Give me the steadfast girdle
The fortress, tall and sure
Emblazon me with its heat
And steal me from sin
